About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Accounting Leader to join our team at Cpask. As a key member of our Finance business unit, you will play a critical role in driving our accounting teams' success and contributing to the long-term vision of our Co-operative Retailing System (CRS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction to our accounting teams, ensuring they have the necessary processes, knowledge, and direction to support our CRS vision.
  • Lead the accounting teams to successfully execute and achieve departmental goals and objectives, building trusting relationships and providing guidance to support the development of others.
  • Oversee the operating budget process for Cpask and the Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC), as well as all aspects of the financial year end, including reporting, stakeholder engagement, and the external audit.
  • Develop and present Cpask's consolidated financial statements, ensuring presentations meet the audience's needs and are supported by high-quality financial analysis.
  • Oversee the annual audit process, including liaising with external audit partners and attending audit committee meetings as the key Finance expert.
  • Lead the Retail Accounting team in delivering monthly and annual financial statements for 80 local Co-ops, serving as a key contact and working closely with other stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Guide the CRC Accounting team through their deliverables, including monthly operating and financial reporting, capital reporting, and participation in Refinery Leadership meetings.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of relevant progressively responsible experience in financial management and leadership.
  • University degree in Business or Commerce (or a combination of relevant education and experience).
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA).
