Your Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our interdisciplinary team in the Pediatric department at the Northern Lights Health Centre in Fort McMurray. As a Registered Nurse, you will be an integral part of our team, utilizing our values (AHS cares) and Patient First Strategy to provide exceptional care to patients and families. Our pediatric unit has eight beds, and there is an opportunity to cross-train to Maternal Child for a varied experience.

About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide a wide range of nursing services to patients, families, and communities, ensuring their safety and well-being. You will utilize nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making to provide high-quality patient-centered care. You will also play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.

Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Current Pediatric IV therapy/experience
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Current Pediatric Emergency Recognition Stabilization (PEARS)
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)
What We Offer:

Alberta Health Services offers a competitive rate of pay, as well as a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. The allowance is non-pensionable and payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
