Role Overview
In the capacity of Senior Business Partner within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, you will spearhead the synthesis and delivery of strategic and operational financial advisory services. Your role will involve acting as a business partner, establishing robust financial processes, and providing insightful business analytics to inform financial decision-making. You will proactively cultivate a comprehensive understanding of business operations through discussion and analysis, distilling financial needs for the finance function and earning trust as a business partner. You will play a pivotal role in driving business improvements across a portfolio of processes, systems, and reporting enhancements. Your responsibilities will include conducting financial modeling activities, developing, implementing, interpreting, and reporting on performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
Foster a dynamic business partnership, understanding both financial and operational dimensions while providing proactive analysis and guidance to clients, utilizing available systems and tools. Serve as the primary liaison to Finance, assisting clients in navigating comprehensive financial requirements and establishing robust financial processes that yield valuable business insights. Lead initiatives for finance business improvement, focusing on process, system, and reporting enhancements aimed at transformation, productivity, and value creation. Collaborate on the development, implementation, standardization, and monitoring of performance indicators, measures, and targets to ensure stakeholder expectations are met. Utilize an understanding of business performance metrics to deliver analysis and advice that provides meaningful insights into the underlying drivers of performance for operational and strategic metrics, key expense performance indicators, benchmark comparisons, and other variables, while offering recommendations to senior management to optimize client performance. Provide strategic advice, guidance, and recommendations to internal clients, ranging from middle management to senior vice-presidents, regarding business initiatives, business cases, guidelines, policies, risk management, financial planning, and costing in alignment with CMHC's strategy. Conduct thorough analyses to cost, evaluate, challenge, and support business cases, ensuring they align with CMHC's overarching strategy.Qualifications:
An undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or commerce. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in finance-related roles such as FP&A, Finance Business Partnering, Business Analysis, Business Improvement, or Commercial Finance. Results-oriented, team player with strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and a business acumen mindset. Excellent ability to gather and analyze information, synthesize key elements, and summarize with actionable recommendations. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and work in a multi-demand environment while overseeing the work of other financial professionals. Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at various levels within the organization. Bilingualism (English and French) is required.Preferred Qualifications:
