At Carewest Innovative Healthcare, we are seeking a skilled Health Care Aide to join our team. As a Health Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our clients.

Job Summary:

The Health Care Aide will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide on-going client care. This includes observing, monitoring, and reporting on client status/condition, including changes in physical and emotional status. The Health Care Aide will also ensure that changes in client status are reported to the RN and/or LPN.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver prescribed medications accurately as per policy and procedure.
  • Provide on-going client care, including observing, monitoring, and reporting on client status/condition.
  • Ensure that changes in client status are reported to the RN and/or LPN.
  • Maintain professional and ethical standards at all times.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required, plus graduation from an Alberta Government recognized Health Care Aide program.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English is required.
  • Must be physically capable of managing the frequent lifting, transferring, and repositioning of clients.
  • Active and current registration in the Alberta HCA Directory is required.
Program Summary:

EQuaL (Enabling Quality of Life) is a program for adults aged 18 to 64 who have disabilities related to a disease or condition, such as multiple sclerosis or a brain injury, currently requiring the full-time support of a continuing care centre.
