About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Heavy Duty Cleaner to join our team at the Embassy Grand Convention Centre. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our premises.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweeping and Cleaning: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to ensure a clean and safe environment for our guests and staff.
  • Waste Management: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse, and empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Window and Surface Cleaning: Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Security and Safety: Perform safety and security checks to ensure the well-being of our guests and staff, and move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
