This is a casual position with the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board, reporting under Plant Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of cleaning and general maintenance duties.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the cleanliness of the school through regular inspections and maintenance of facilities.
- Perform monthly fire extinguisher checks and record the results.
- Conduct maintenance of grounds, including snow removal, lawn care, and watering (where applicable).
- Secure the building as required and report any safety violations.
- Participate in emergency situations and respond accordingly.
- One year of experience in commercial or institutional janitorial work.
- Ability to lift in excess of 25 pounds.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently and effectively.
- Training in and experience with WHMIS is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, electricity, plumbing, yard maintenance, cleaning procedures, fire extinguishers, and security systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Original current, satisfactory Vulnerable Screening Criminal Background Check prior to commencement of employment.
