Chief Medical Information Officer

Northern Health is a leading healthcare provider in British Columbia, serving over 300,000 people across a vast region. As the Chief Medical Information Officer, you will play a critical role in advancing the utilization of technology-enabled information management systems to improve quality outcomes for patients within clinical operations.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading major clinical or quality improvement initiatives in a large, complex healthcare environment. Knowledge of broad healthcare operations in a rural health setting and credibility as a practicing physician to successfully partner with clinical leaders across Northern Health is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise on strategies for development, design, implementation, change management, adoption, utilization, and evaluation of informatics solutions
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the province and lead physician engagement in Northern Health's information technology initiatives
  • Ensure strategies align with organizational objectives and translate clinical needs into technology solutions that optimize care quality and patient safety

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of leading major clinical or quality improvement initiatives in a large, complex healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of broad healthcare operations in a rural health setting and credibility as a practicing physician
