Position Overview

SLR Consulting (Canada) is seeking a Fluvial Processes Specialist to join our dedicated team of professionals. We are a leading firm in environmental consulting, providing a range of services that integrate advisory and technical expertise across various disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather, organize, and evaluate data related to geomorphology, hydrology, and hydraulic processes.
  • Assist in conducting assessments of fluvial geomorphology and open-channel hydraulics.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across different offices and specialties.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as physical geography, geology, water resources engineering, or environmental engineering.
  • A minimum of 2 years of pertinent experience in the environmental consulting sector.
  • Membership or eligibility for membership with Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO) or Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) is advantageous.
  • Experience with erosion hazard assessments and familiarity with GIS software.
  • Proficiency in conducting fieldwork related to fluvial geomorphology, including the measurement of bankfull cross-sections.
  • Knowledge of total station and RTK GPS survey techniques.
  • Ability to travel to remote locations for fieldwork safely and efficiently.
