Human Resources Specialist

Humber River Health is seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Specialist to join our Total Rewards team. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for managing the employee life cycle, providing advice and guidance on benefits and pension administration, and supporting the administration of HRIS data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage employee life cycle in accordance with hospital policies, collective agreements, and legislative guidelines
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on benefits and pension administration, leave of absences, and retirement
  • Review and assess claims for previous experience and adjust employee salary as necessary
  • Support the administration and maintenance of HRIS data and system audits
  • Manage and administer employer perks programs

Requirements:

  • College diploma in Human Resources
  • Minimum two years of Human Resources experience in a unionized environment
  • Experience administering pension and benefits required
  • Knowledge of payroll procedures and CRA guidelines an asset
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, including Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, and Occupational Health & Safety Act
