ROLE OVERVIEW
Quality is fundamental to our operations at SMG. The Quality Manager is a proactive strategic thinker and implementer, responsible for developing and refining policies, procedures, and processes for the organization. The ideal candidate excels in a dynamic environment where they can manage multiple priorities effectively. As a customer-facing role, the Quality Manager must possess outstanding customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills. With a background in mechanics, this individual takes pride in establishing processes that guide the company's quality initiatives while fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Integrate quality activities across all manufacturing sectors to align planning and priorities with the company's objectives.
  • Identify and address quality control issues in collaboration with the quality team, vendors, customers, and production personnel.
  • Lead efforts to enhance quality control and assurance processes, including documentation, reporting, and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate and oversee audits with various OEM clients.
  • Develop and strengthen existing quality inspection standards based on specific part criteria defined by internal engineering and customer requirements.
  • Facilitate collaboration between the quality team and other departments within the organization.
  • Enhance and manage internal and external corrective and preventive action processes.
  • Work with internal teams to implement vendor quality improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate and assist with vendor and product inspections as necessary.
  • Facilitate communication between quality teams in Canada and international locations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • At least 5 years of experience in a quality leadership position within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership capabilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of quality procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools and quality-related software.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
