About the Role

The Design System team at theScore is seeking an experienced Android Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving the technical development and evolution of our design system, ensuring it meets the needs of various product teams and adheres to best practices in mobile development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers to implement and maintain design system components and patterns.
  • Drive the adoption of the design system across product teams, providing guidance, support, and documentation as needed.
  • Continuously optimize the performance, accessibility, and usability of design system components to enhance the overall user experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in mobile development and design systems, incorporating relevant advancements into our practices and processes.
  • Showcase mobile best practices to solve complex implementation challenges across multiple applications and brands.
Requirements
  • 2+ years' experience with Kotlin (our apps are 100% Kotlin)
  • 3+ years' experience in Native Android development.
  • Experience building and maintaining performant and reusable components
  • A demonstrated ability in delivering clean, organized and testable code.
  • An understanding of the Android Architecture Principles and good practices.
  • Experience with Coroutines and Dependency Injection
  • Experience with UI testing.
  • Experience working with Git.
  • Experience working with large native code bases with significant complexity.
  • Solid knowledge of object-oriented design, software development principles, and design patterns.
  • Experience with mobile CI/CD tools and automation (eg. GitHub actions)
  • Highly proficient with profiling/debugging tools.
  • Effective collaborator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and/or equivalent experience.
  • A passion for sports and/or gaming is considered an asset.
