Senior Electrical Programming Analyst

Position Overview:
As a key member of the Continuous Improvement team, this role is dedicated to enhancing operational efficiency and driving initiatives aimed at reducing operational losses and expenses within the Brantford facility. Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager, the individual will oversee equipment performance and spearhead continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Production and Maintenance teams to devise and implement corrective actions that minimize losses and enhance planned maintenance activities.
- Support the Operations team in diagnosing urgent and recurring issues affecting Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), documenting findings and solutions for future reference.
- Design, configure, and implement process control solutions utilizing PLC and HMI programming.
- Conduct troubleshooting, upgrades, and installations of SCADA, PLC, and HMI hardware for maintenance and new construction projects, including logic design and network setup.
- Interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams to establish wiring sequences and layouts.
- Apply lean methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis to identify value-added and non-value-added activities.
- Manage maintenance and small capital projects, including design, equipment selection, budgeting, and contractor supervision, ensuring compliance with relevant codes.
- Maintain an organized set of markup drawings and configuration files, ensuring documentation is backed up according to established procedures.
- Work closely with the engineering team on upcoming capital projects.
- Utilize historical data from various systems to develop and refine Planned Maintenance Programs for optimal machinery performance.
- Participate in training and seminars to stay current with technical skills related to trade and equipment.
- Ensure all tasks are executed safely, with a focus on maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma in a relevant field (Trade license, Technologist, or Professional qualification).
- Proven expertise in programming.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning capabilities.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, particularly in the packaged goods sector.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience in industrial automation and control systems.
- Background in Electrical Engineering design, specifically with control panels.
- Knowledge of PLC logic and related automation networks.
