Job Title: Data Modeler

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Modeler to join our team at High Tech Genesis Inc. in Montreal, QC.

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement data management capabilities to drive business insights and support organizational objectives.
  • Provide technical management of source systems, ETL processes, data stores, data warehouses, and business intelligence tools.
  • Develop rules and processes to ensure data integrity in Data Warehouse, IoT, and Big Data environments.
  • Manage data assets, including scripts, template database objects, and documentation.
  • Link technical elements to business elements through data modeling and business process mapping.
  • Leverage data to provide meaningful insights and robust forecasting.
  • Determine root causes and business impacts of data quality issues.
  • Work closely with the BI Lead to recommend data quality rules and responsibilities.
  • Support project management activities, including scoping, estimating, and risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with product owners, data engineers, and users to understand stakeholder requirements.

Requirements:

  • College or University degree in Computer Science.
  • 5+ years of experience in data management, IT technology, and operations in a large company.
  • Knowledge of applications, data stores, and ETL processes.
  • Strength in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
  • Experience building and operating highly available, distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing.
  • Knowledge of SQL and Snowflake Data Warehouse.
  • Knowledge of Data Governance and Data Quality concepts.

  • Bilingualism: Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken) is an asset.
