Job Summary
As a key member of the culinary team at Great Canadian Entertainment, the successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of menu item production, maintaining all company standards and adherence to all safety and hygiene policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcome work environment for all team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, pre-cook, cook and present menu items in a timely fashion; follow standardized recipes and ensure high-quality presentation.
- Submit food product requirements for purchasing and procurement to ensure efficient inventory management.
- Prepare mise en place (setting in place) of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery and other products as required for high-volume production.
- Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Receive stock from receiving operations, label, date, store and rotate in appropriate storage areas to ensure efficient inventory management.
- Assist with month-end inventories as directed to ensure accurate inventory levels.
- Attend culinary meetings as required to stay informed of menu changes and updates.
- Liaise and communicate effectively with all operational departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders, including guests, ownership, and team members.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed to support the culinary team.
Requirements
- High School Diploma; Culinary education an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive culinary experience.
- Red Seal certification through ITA or current enrollment in the program an asset.
- Food Safety Certification.
- Ability to successfully obtain a Criminal Record Check.
- Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective, and service-oriented communication.
- Computer literacy in MS Office.
Work Environment Considerations
- Regular kitchen environment, standing and walking for long periods, non-traditional work hours.
