Job Description

**Job Title:** IT Team Lead - Infrastructure Operations

**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced IT Team Lead to join our team at Employment and Social Development Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the planning, development, implementation, integration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized technical advice and support for technical issues related to IT infrastructure operations.
  • Integrate, deploy, and/or maintain IT systems.
  • Provide technical analysis, advice, and recommendations on IT systems, products, and services.
  • Develop, implement, or evaluate information technology policies, guidelines, standards, and frameworks.
  • Lead or participate in project teams and working groups of technical staff to facilitate the development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and resolution of IT infrastructure issues.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management, or another specialty relevant to the position.
  • Experience of approximately two (2) years obtained within the last five (5) years in technical analysis and development of a project, initiative, or digital service to meet client needs and requirements.
  • Experience of approximately two (2) years in collaboration and building effective working relationships with various IM/IT stakeholders and a multidisciplinary team to develop, deliver, or support a digital application, project, initiative, or service.
  • Experience of approximately two (2) years obtained within the last five (5) years in providing technical recommendations, guidance, or advice to clients, colleagues, or management on issues related to digital systems, applications, projects, initiatives, or digital services.
  • Technical knowledge of computers, software, and networking in a complex Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

Asset Qualifications:

  • University degree from a recognized academic institution in computer science, information technology, information management, or another field related to the position.
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL, PMP, cybersecurity, or certifications in cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Experience supervising employees.
  • Experience in options analysis of IT solutions.
  • Experience with integration and administration of commercial IT products.
  • Experience in integration and administration of cloud products and infrastructure.
