Position Overview: Rincon Consultants, Inc. is on the lookout for an Environmental Planner who possesses a solid background in environmental assessment and permitting, particularly in relation to renewable energy, electric transmission, and various energy generation projects. This role encompasses conducting and supervising research, field investigations, impact assessments, report creation, and business development associated with CEQA/NEPA and relevant technical studies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and oversee the preparation of CEQA/NEPA documentation for renewable energy and electric transmission projects.
  • Conduct and manage feasibility studies and constraint analyses.
  • Execute current planning responsibilities throughout the entitlement and permitting phases.
  • Engage with clients and deliver public presentations to decision-making bodies.
  • Facilitate agency consultations and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Exhibit confidence in decision-making and be acknowledged by clients and colleagues as an expert in CEQA/NEPA and related technical domains.
  • Comprehend the full environmental scope of projects and their implications for various stakeholders and agencies.
  • Contribute to advancing California's clean energy initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental planning principles, practices, and techniques, as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Practical understanding of CEQA and/or NEPA, along with familiarity with other environmental statutes and regulations.
  • Highly motivated with exceptional technical writing, interpersonal, and communication skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, and innovative with strong time management abilities.
  • Self-motivated individual willing to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
