**About The Role: Optimizing supply chain efficiency**

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the determination of requirements and purchase of ingredients
- Maintain the contract position reports
- Managed grain bank customers and suppliers, handled correspondence, collected and submitted forms, and entered data into the ERP system
- Administer the protein claims program, including working with the QA department and communicating with suppliers for low protein claims
- Address any necessary quality issues with ingredients and monitor supplier performance
- Monitor open purchase orders and verify shipping documents
- Communicate with customs brokers to ensure shipments are cleared in a timely manner
- Provides direct support to the Procurement team (Buyers & Procurement Manager)
- Investigate discrepancies between bills of lading and vendor invoices
- Actively participates in ingredient and inventory-related meetings
- Run (daily/weekly/monthly) procurement reports and reconcile discrepancies
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

**Skills and Expertise**

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in supply chain, operations, economics, technical engineering or equivalent 2-3 years related experience in procurement or supply chain
- Experience with forecasting and sales and operations planning, preferably within the animal feed industry
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
- Proven organizational, planning and prioritizing skills with the ability to adhere to strict timelines
- Well-developed computer skills (MS Office programs), database management, CRM M3 and a strong mathematical aptitude.
