Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team at Ingredion Canada Corporation. As a Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our manufacturing processes and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to maintenance and operations groups, including process studies, troubleshooting, process optimization, and analysis of historical data to identify, monitor, and control key operating parameters.
  • Collaborate with the plant safety professional and plant staff on facility safety initiatives, designing and/or redesigning work processes to eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses. Work closely with the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) when conducting Pre-Start Health & Safety Reviews.
  • Maintain historical data to analyze and monitor key efficiencies and parameters against design, assisting Operations in meeting costs and production goals.
  • Execute projects as necessary, meeting budget and schedule, supervising construction, training personnel, supervising startup, conducting interdepartmental coordination with Quality Control/Quality Assurance, safety, health, and environmental, and maintenance departments.
  • Ensure proper documentation and drawings are produced and maintained, providing the necessary documentation to production, systems, and maintenance departments.
  • Leverage analytical and problem-solving activities to support plant management in identifying key success drivers and executing improvement objectives.
  • Identify training needs and opportunities, and assist in the development and delivery of training programs for process operators and maintenance personnel as required. Understand and integrate business and technical needs into all activities.
  • Develop and validate training programs, Standard Operating Procedure documentation, and establish technical competency requirements.
  • Facilitate departmental Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on all incidents and ensure corrective actions are communicated to the plant.
  • Lead and facilitate Continuous Improvement problem-solving projects (PDCA, Kaizen, SMED, Lean Six Sigma) that support plant performance enhancement at all dimensions.
  • Lead/act as a change agent to achieve continuous improvement and performance-focused culture.
  • Coach and mentor plant teams/individuals to ensure successful completion of Improvement Project implementation and CI activities.
  • Drive and support cost reduction initiatives, productivity enhancement, and quality to deliver Cost Savings targets for the area.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Chemical, Industrial, or Food Engineering desired. Work experience and alternate education will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Experience in Process/Production Engineering.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • PC literate with word processing, database, and spreadsheet experience.
  • Proficient or working towards proficiency in statistical data analysis.
  • Well-organized and team-oriented.
  • Project management skills, including multi-tasking and time management.
  • Ability to lead a team and work as a team member with a variety of people at all levels within the organization.
  • Result-driven with urgency.
  • High level of integrity, care, sincerity, and ownership.
  • Proactive and innovative with a strong will to succeed.
