About the Role

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Medical Laboratory Technologists . The work schedule and locations may vary across the province.

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT), you will collaborate with the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine team to perform diagnostic analytical laboratory tests and procedures utilizing appropriate methodologies and quality assurance techniques.

The MLT is responsible for ensuring that the principles and practices guiding our operations—such as our mission, vision, values, expected behaviors, leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships, and interprofessional collaboration—are integrated into the services provided and the messages communicated.

Qualifications

We encourage applications from individuals who possess the following qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited program in Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Must be eligible or licensed with NSCMLT and registered with CSMLS
  • Strong focus on client relations and the ability to foster solid healthcare partnerships
  • Proficient in various computer software and applications
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated accountability, judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication abilities
  • Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail
  • Proven leadership capabilities
  • Strong planning, organization, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and self-learning

Work Schedule
  • Permanent full-time positions; 75 hours biweekly
  • Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Travel to various sites may be necessary
Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage is $37.54.

Successful candidates may qualify for a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance under a defined Return of Service contract.
