Pipelayer - Shallow Utility Construction Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pipelayer to join our team at Forbes Bros. Ltd. in Surrey, BC. As a Pipelayer, you will be responsible for the preparation, assembly, and installation of pipelines in accordance with project specifications and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and assemble pipelines for installation
  • Install pipelines in accordance with project specifications and guidelines
  • Monitor back-fill of pipe bedding to ensure proper haunch support
  • Knowledge of Quality Control requirements for job site and effectively aid the Foreman
  • Strong understanding of Forbes Safe Work Practices for all common work tasks
Requirements
  • Previous experience in civil construction is required
  • Working knowledge of laser level and locate equipment, an asset
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Valid Safety Certifications including but not limited to: Ground Disturbance, First Aid, H2S Alive, an asset
  • Ability to work in field/site with travel and work hour flexibility to accommodate to remote/site work schedules
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy lifting
