Responsibilities of the LPN at Vancouver Coastal Health include:
Executing the complete range of practical nursing duties for clients with predictable outcomes, which encompasses assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting client care, while also providing support to clients and their families. Collaborating as part of an interdisciplinary care team under general supervision, assisting the Registered Nurse in managing clients with unpredictable outcomes. Operating under the guidance of an RN for patients whose care demands a higher level of expertise and skill beyond the Licensed Practical Nurse's scope.ABOUT BELLA BELLA, BC
Bella Bella is a picturesque island community located off the central coast of British Columbia, known for its stunning natural surroundings. The area is rich in wildlife and offers a mild climate, making it ideal for outdoor activities such as kayaking, sport fishing, and hiking.
The Heiltsuk Hospital in Bella Bella features 7 acute care beds, 7 long-term care beds, and a 4-bed emergency department that operates around the clock, alongside laboratory and diagnostic imaging services. The facility also provides telehealth services and specialty clinics, supported by a dedicated healthcare team.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Completion of a recognized Practical Nurse program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate.Skills & Competencies
Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills to interact with others effectively. Physical capability to perform the responsibilities of the role. Organizational skills to manage work efficiently. Proficiency in operating relevant equipment.Additional Information
Work hours, including days off and work area, may vary based on operational needs and applicable agreements.
