Arcadis Building Engineering Group is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer (Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec) to enhance our dynamic team in Montreal.

This position offers the chance to engage in projects across the Montreal region while collaborating with other Arcadis offices throughout North America. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in HVAC, plumbing & drainage, and/or fire protection systems, along with practical knowledge of process engineering systems such as compressed air and fueling systems. Key Responsibilities:

Contributing to the design and development of mechanical systems for building projects while ensuring adherence to relevant codes and standards. Collaborating with senior engineers to facilitate the implementation of process engineering systems. Participating in site evaluations and assessments to confirm the performance and functionality of mechanical systems. Providing technical assistance to project teams, contractors, and clients, and actively engaging in project planning and coordination. Assisting in the preparation of engineering calculations and reports while staying informed about advancements in mechanical engineering technologies and best practices. Coordinating with architectural teams and other engineering disciplines, and actively participating in project planning and budgeting. Designing and engineering building-related systems, including HVAC, hydronics, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, controls, and building automation systems. Supporting the design of industrial systems such as compressed air, lubrication, and fueling systems, as well as service connections for machinery installations. Analyzing heating and cooling loads using computerized methods. Developing and writing engineering study reports. Ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards during design development, and coordinating with the energy analysis team for adherence to energy standards. Taking responsibility for the production of construction documents and construction administration for projects, and reviewing and approving technical documentation. Conducting quality assurance checks, fostering innovation, and driving continuous improvement within the engineering team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience:

7-10 years of experience in mechanical design for industrial and transit facilities, with a strong background in automotive facilities being advantageous. A professional engineering license (P.Eng.) and a comprehensive understanding of AutoCAD MEP, MicroStation, Revit, 3D software, and related tools. Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective internal and client interactions. Ability to manage multiple project assignments effectively. Legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship. Proven experience in collaborating with clients, contractors, and other consultants. Strong understanding of the Quebec Building Code, Quebec Fire Code, Plumbing Code, NFPA, and ASHRAE standards. Familiarity with TSSA Fuel & Pressure vessel codes, and industrial ventilation standards is an additional asset.
