Job Title: Residential Counsellor - Overnight Support

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Counsellor to join our team at Broadview Village, a leading provider of support services for adults with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges. As a Residential Counsellor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of our residents, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to residents, promoting their personal development and independence.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene, meal preparation, and clean-up.
  • Administer medications as required and maintain accurate records.
  • Develop and implement individual support plans, working collaboratively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment, adhering to health and safety protocols and reporting any incidents or concerns.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Completed 2-3 year Developmental Services Worker Diploma or equivalent degree/diploma in human services.
  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR Level C Certificate.
  • Ability to achieve Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certificate.
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License and satisfactory driver's abstract.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 6 months to 1 year experience working with adults with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.
  • Experience with writing and implementing individual support plans.
  • Medication administration experience.
