Senior Legal Advisor, Prevention, Resolution of Disputes and Litigation

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Advisor to join our Litigation and Dispute Prevention/Resolution team at Pomerleau Construction. As a key member of our team, you will provide strategic legal advice and support to our management and project management teams on ongoing construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Provide legal advice and support to management and project management teams on strategic and legal issues related to construction projects.
- Draft and revise documents, including notices of claim, dispute, and mediation/arbitration.
- Analyze litigation files to develop a theory of case and legal strategy.
- Initiate and conduct disputes and litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting examinations, and preparing hearing briefs.
- Conduct settlement discussions, including settlement conferences and mediation sessions.
- Coordinate and collaborate with external legal counsel as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in law and membership in the Quebec Bar.
- 7 to 9+ years' experience in litigation, including construction law.
- Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
- Strong legal argumentation skills, both oral and written.
- Perfect command of French and very good command of English.
- Good knowledge of relevant computer tools and software, including the Microsoft Office suite and jurisprudence search engines.
- Demonstrated judgment, initiative, leadership, autonomy, versatility, and team spirit.
- Solution-oriented analytical mind.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.
