KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key Duties:
- The Clinical Behaviour Analyst will operate within a recovery-oriented framework to deliver short-term, inpatient support to individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours linked to their mental health conditions. Employing a bio-psychosocial model and integrating the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), the Clinical Behaviour Analyst will work alongside various professionals within the program to formulate cohesive assessments and intervention strategies based on evidence-based practices.
Responsibilities:
- The Clinical Behaviour Analyst will actively participate in the multi-disciplinary treatment team by:
- Offering insights and education to behaviour therapists, primary care teams, patients, and families regarding behavioural evaluations and intervention plans tailored to individual cases;
- Demonstrating proficiency in the services provided by the Behavioural Therapist;
- Delivering direct care in both individual and group environments, utilizing a blend of intensive instruction and naturalistic training settings;
- Keeping accurate records and scheduling follow-ups as necessary while ensuring patient confidentiality;
- Providing technical oversight to behaviour therapists as mandated by the regulatory body;
- Responsible for identifying and reporting safety concerns related to patients, staff, and the environment, and implementing preventive and corrective measures within the scope of this role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A post-graduate degree is required, with a minimum of a Master's level education;
- Must be registered in good standing with the relevant regulatory body;
- Active certification as a BCBA or BCBA-D in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB);
- A Vulnerable Sector Check is necessary;
- Board Certified Behaviour Analyst status in good standing with the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board is required.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Extensive clinical experience, including at least two years of providing behaviour analytic services to diverse populations (children, youth, adults, elderly) facing mental health and addiction challenges;
- Capability to train others in ABA (Applied Behavioural Analysis);
- Comprehensive understanding of behavioural programming, including data collection, tracking, graphing, and summarization;
- Proven knowledge of mental health issues and pervasive developmental disorders acquired through experience with clients in various settings.
SKILLS:
- Current CPR-HCP and first aid certification;
- Ability to provide constructive feedback to colleagues regarding programming;
- Competence in training staff to proficiency on various protocols and behavioural skills;
- Strong time management skills and capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Adherence to organizational policies and procedures, including ethical standards as outlined by the regulatory body;
- Ability to interpret and implement clinical protocols and written assessments of mental status;
- Experience in programming planning and development is preferred;
- Familiarity with mental health legislation;
- Capacity to work with clients from diverse ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds is essential;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities;
- Strong organizational and analytical skills;
- Demonstrated commitment to personal development and facilitating the growth of others;
- Proven leadership capabilities;
- Ability to engage and empower patients and families in their care, promoting optimal independence in the least restrictive environment;
- A solid work and attendance record is required;

- All employees must ensure the psychological health and safety of themselves and their colleagues by following organizational policies;

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of two years of direct clinical experience providing ABA-based services to adults with mental health, developmental, and/or neuro-cognitive needs.
This position is part of a bargaining unit.
