Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Nursing Unit Assistant to join the team at the Medical Infusion Clinic at Vancouver General Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical and receptionist support to the delivery of client care.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks, including transcribing and processing physicians' orders, arranging client appointments and transportation, and maintaining client charts.
  • Operate computer systems and software relevant to the job, including typing and distributing reports.
  • Maintain inventory of stationery supplies and ensure filing systems are up-to-date.
Requirements
  • Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program.
  • One year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to keyboard 40 w.p.m.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Ability to utilize a variety of computer software applications.
