About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Assurance Manager to lead our project teams in ensuring the highest level of safety standards are met. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and performing safety assurance activities, delivering safe solutions, and coordinating all safety-related activities on the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and perform safety assurance activities, including safety analysis, hazard log management, and review of RAM, Cyber, V&V, and T&C activities.
  • Define and manage safety plans, workload, and associated planning.
  • Support tender and/or RC teams to integrate products/systems into projects.
  • Build and maintain safety reports and/or safety cases.
  • Apply safety assurance methodologies, including risk acceptance criteria, safety analysis, verification, and validation.
  • Organize and attend periodic safety reviews.
  • Defend safety case argumentations in front of internal and external assessors, and define and follow-up action plans to close findings.
  • Manage safety assurance engineers involved on the project.
  • Manage 8D steps as per process if identified as safety leader for a safety issue.
Requirements
  • Advanced university or engineering degree.
  • English operational in reading and writing for technical documentation.
  • System, electrical, electronics, electromechanical engineering knowledge desired.
  • Mastering Cenelec standards for safety (or equivalent standards if needed: AREMA, IEEE, etc.) and safety methodology & concepts/principles.
  • 10 years of successful experience in safety assurance, including 2 years in railway business.
  • Structured and organized.
  • Team player.
  • Proactive behavior.
  • Sense of anticipation and urgency.
  • Ability to say 'no go' when needed and to support/elaborate plan/solution to deliver.
  • Resilient (to pressure, to last-minute deliveries, safety issue management).
  • Training capability in safety.
  • Ability to allocate/drive activities performed by others (SAE).
