Your Role:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Alberta Health Services, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. This position emphasizes a strong cooperative atmosphere among Nurses, Physicians, Allied Health Professionals, and Support Workers. Each unit is designed to cater to specific patient demographics, necessitating a tailored orientation for effective shift coverage. Additionally, LPNs within the Regularized Relief Team – Medicine are expected to undergo an annual skills assessment aligned with the units they support, alongside fulfilling the Alberta Health Services Annual Compulsory Education (ACE).
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Manager Access, your primary responsibility will be to deliver patient care across various units. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to fostering open communication and providing constructive feedback, ensuring respect for colleagues, care providers, patients, and their families. This role offers avenues for both personal and professional growth within diverse teams.
As an LPN, you will actively engage in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, working within your full scope of practice. This position requires the successful candidate to work twelve (12) hour shifts.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Consideration may be given to nursing graduate students who have completed a final focus on an acute care medical unit.
