COMPENSATION RANGE: $39.07 – $56.00

The Registered Nurse, under the supervision of the Manager of Outpatient Mental Health Services, will be responsible for delivering and overseeing care to individuals experiencing significant mental health challenges, adhering to Recovery Principles. This role necessitates the ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, engaging effectively with various service providers. The position involves travel within the designated service area to implement programs and address client needs. The RN will manage a caseload and is expected to primarily work within the Assertive Community Treatment Team, with the flexibility to be reassigned to other programs as required.

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

Required

  • Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses as a Registered Nurse
  • Certification from the Canadian Nurses Association in Psychiatry and Mental Health Nursing
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in an outpatient setting
  • Valid CPI training certification
  • Basic CPR certification
  • Familiarity with the Recovery Model principles and practices
  • Understanding of contemporary psychiatric medications
  • Proficient in psycho/social and mental status assessments
  • Experience in medication administration and monitoring
  • Capability to provide a comprehensive range of counseling, support, advocacy, and educational services to clients and their families
  • Strong communication skills for professional interactions with families, community providers, and healthcare professionals
  • Knowledgeable in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques
  • Understanding of the Mental Health Act and familiarity with DSM criteria
  • Access to reliable transportation and possession of a valid Ontario Class 'G' Driver's License
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation models
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, and provide coverage across multiple sites as necessary
  • Proven record of satisfactory performance and attendance
