Job Overview
The Manufacturing Equipment Operator plays a crucial role in our production process, responsible for the operation, oversight, and management of machinery that transforms raw materials into finished goods. This position encompasses various roles, including Cut-off Operator, Phosphate Operator, Paint-line Operator, and Wood Shop Operator. Following orientation and hands-on training, Operators are expected to adhere to safety and quality standards, set up and maintain machinery, conduct inspections for product conformity, and ensure traceability of materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate in a safe and environmentally conscious manner
- Support the company's Vision, Mission, and Objectives
- Adhere to quality system procedures and policies
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
- Capable of lifting weights up to 80 lbs
- Engage in continuous lifting, bending, and twisting
- Possess basic mathematical skills
- Strive for improvements in line with performance goals
- Lead the operational workforce to uphold safety and quality standards
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on machinery
- Operate forklifts as necessary
Qualifications
- Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent education
- Post-secondary education in Business, Trades, or Engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience is preferred
- Experience in equipment operation and mechanical aptitude is advantageous
- Proficiency in computer systems, including Microsoft Office, is desirable
- Demonstrated commitment to achieving high performance and exceeding goals
- Ability to apply logical reasoning to solve complex problems
- Trusted to communicate effectively and truthfully
- Capable of providing essential information for informed decision-making
