Job Description

As a Technical Content Specialist at GIRO, you will play a crucial role in creating high-quality technical documentation that supports our software applications. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with our development team to write online help content that is accurate, concise, and easy to understand.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Developers: Work closely with our development team to write online help content that is consistent across different functionalities and meets the needs of our users.
  • Research and Propose Terminology: Conduct research to propose terminology that accurately represents various application concepts and ensure consistency throughout the documentation.
  • Design and Layout: Participate in the design of windows and reports to ensure the ergonomics of the application interface and provide input on layout and formatting.
  • Release Notes: Write release notes that clearly describe new features and changes to the software.
  • User Guides and Online Help: Contribute to the redesign and modernization of existing user guides to create integrated online help within the software, and integrate new features into existing user guides and/or online help.
  • New Application Products: Write user guides and/or online help for new application products and ensure that they meet the required standards.
  • Documentation Standards: Participate in developing presentation standards for documentation and ensure that they are followed.
  • Content Creation: Capture screenshots, format, and layout, and participate in publishing user guides.
  • Writing Support: Provide writing support to various teams as needed.
  • Documentation Validation: Validate and prioritize documentation-related issues (OBS).
Qualifications:
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Languages: Bilingualism (French/English) with mastery of English for writing and communicating with international clients.
  • Writing Skills: Proficiency in English writing.
  • Skills: Strong linguistic, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Team Player: A team player, curious, autonomous, and self-taught.
  • Content Creation Tools: Knowledge of content creation tools like MadCap Flare (an asset) and/or GIT (asset).
