Role Summary:
The Relief Community Engagement Specialist will collaborate with residents to implement community development strategies aimed at fostering an inclusive and vibrant community. This role involves engaging with the broader community and developing effective approaches to address the emotional, practical, and social support needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Work collaboratively with tenants to promote community initiatives.
2. Provide case management support to women and gender diverse individuals, particularly those facing complex mental health challenges or at risk of homelessness.
3. Facilitate individual and group support sessions to empower tenants in overcoming barriers and maintaining stable housing.
4. Offer crisis prevention, intervention, and counseling to enhance individual and community well-being.
5. Model conflict resolution and mediation techniques to foster positive relationships among tenants.
6. Assist tenants in problem-solving and accessing relevant community resources.
7. Engage in reflective practice with the staff team to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs and services.
8. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of tenant support initiatives.

Qualifications:
- A degree in a relevant field (e.g., Community Work) or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a supportive housing environment, working directly with diverse populations affected by poverty, homelessness, trauma, and mental health issues.
- Proven ability to cultivate leadership within groups and employ a client-centered, strengths-based approach to supportive counseling and group work.
- Additional qualifications such as a Life Skills certificate or arts-based skills are considered assets.
- Familiarity with community resources and proficiency in software applications like Windows and Excel.
- Knowledge of a second language or cultural background is advantageous.
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are beneficial.
