Emergency Department Registered Practical Nurse

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our dynamic team in the Emergency Department at North York General Hospital. As a Registered Practical Nurse, you will provide excellent patient and family-centered care in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of care providers.
- Assess, educate, prevent, maintain, and restore patient health, with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Participate in ongoing learning and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Contribute to the Hospital's academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning, and/or transforming care through research and innovation.
Requirements:
- Registered Practical Nursing diploma from a recognized Community College.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Minimum 2 years of acute medical/surgical nursing experience.
- Experience working in an emergency department and/or ambulatory urgent care space is preferred.
- IV initiation, phlebotomy, and electrocardiogram interpretation skills are preferred.
- Competent in cardiac monitoring is preferred.
- Bilingualism in French/English is an asset.
