Position Summary: We are currently seeking a qualified individual to assume the role of Financial Operations Coordinator. This position reports directly to the President and is pivotal in overseeing various accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough oversight of accounting operations, ensuring accurate reconciliation and maintenance of financial accounts.
  • Compile and analyze data leveraging knowledge of bookkeeping practices and Canadian financial regulations.
  • Ensure timely and precise remittances for government and pension obligations.
  • Manage receivable collections effectively to secure timely payments.
  • Review vendor accounts and invoices to guarantee that approved payments are processed promptly.
  • Monitor cash management practices and provide strategic recommendations.

Collaboration: Work closely with Operations personnel to facilitate accurate cost reporting and invoicing for ongoing projects.

Technical Guidance: Offer expert advice on complex accounting matters and oversee the implementation of internal financial controls.

Team Management: Supervise accounting, clerical, payroll, and benefits programs, ensuring adequate backup support when necessary.

Training and Development: Identify training needs within the accounting and clerical teams and coordinate necessary training sessions.

Performance Standards: Establish performance standards and conduct evaluations to ensure continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a 4-year Undergraduate Degree in Commerce or Business Administration.
  • Experience with Jonas accounting software is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
