Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join the Priority Population Outreach Team in Vancouver, BC as an Emerging Response Outreach Nurse.
Job SummaryThis is an exciting opportunity to work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide outreach services to vulnerable/marginalized clients and communities most impacted by emerging public health issues.
Key Responsibilities- Work with a culturally diverse population, including Indigenous communities and sexual minorities, to provide frontline clinical supports and harm reduction education.
- Collaborate with community-based agencies and partners to reach high-risk populations and provide access to pharmaceutical alternatives to the toxic street drug supply.
- Identify health issues, behaviors, needs, barriers, and challenges for at-risk populations and work collaboratively to develop creative strategies to address them.
- Provide consultation, leadership, and work direction as needed.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Two (2) years' recent, related community and/or outreach experience providing communicable disease screening, assessment, treatment, and/or outreach support using harm reduction approaches.
- Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
