About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Leaside Daycare Centre. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to grow and develop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Child Development and Learning
    • Assess children's development and create personalized learning plans to support their growth and progress.
    • Develop and implement engaging child-care programs that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Team Collaboration and Support
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a clean and organized environment.
    • Assist in housekeeping and cooking duties to ensure a smooth operation of the daycare centre.
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and any concerns.
    • Prepare and submit written observations and reports to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Leadership and Guidance
    • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants.
    • Lead activities and engage children in learning experiences through storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Order supplies and equipment as needed.
    • Assist in maintaining records and reports.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience
    • College/CEGEP diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field.
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a childcare setting.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Knowledge of licensing regulations and child development principles.
