About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Drafting Technician to join our team at 2477327 Ontario Inc. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for preparing engineering designs and drawings, reading blueprints to determine work requirements, and developing and preparing design sketches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Drafting: Prepare engineering designs and drawings, and develop and prepare design sketches.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read blueprints to determine work requirements and ensure accuracy.
  • Specifications and Estimates: Prepare construction specifications, costs, and material estimates.
  • Contract and Tender Preparation: Prepare contracts and tenders for construction projects.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Write technical reports and complete documentation packages and drawing sets.
  • Quality Control: Examine drawings for conformity and errors.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Consult with clients, engineers, and production specialists to establish product requirements, and lead/instruct groups as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in drafting and design, or equivalent experience.
  • Computer and Technology Skills: Proficiency in presentation software, SketchUp, and AutoCAD.
  • Area of Specialization: Construction, industrial design, architecture, drafting, and buildings and structures.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to work as a team player.
