About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Educational Assistant II to join our team at Parkland School Division. As an Educational Assistant II, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in a dynamic and progressive school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers with instructional and non-instructional tasks in the classroom and with other school activities.
  • Work with students with special needs, providing support with academic and personal tasks.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to support student success.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and parents to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with special needs.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Teacher Assistant Certificate or Educational Assistant Certificate is an asset.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and First Aid Certificate would be an asset.
  • Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
