About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Team Lead to join our team at BGIS. As a key member of our facilities operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of preventative and corrective maintenance for assigned facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Maintenance Team Lead in overseeing the duties completed by technicians, motivating and inspiring excellent work ethics.
  • Allocate monthly Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) job plans to ensure completion within established expectations.
  • Manage customer service, using the Service Request and Response Process (SRRP), and identify team members for service calls and job plans to improve service satisfaction.
  • Oversee the proper application and execution of processes and practices to ensure achievement of and adherence to all requirements.
  • Oversee and maintain all assigned tools, arranging for repair and replacement as needed, and submit expenditures in a timely manner.
  • Oversee and perform regular facility, mechanical, and electrical equipment and systems monitoring and inspection, preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure facility uptime objectives are met.
  • Provide observations about facility, mechanical, and electrical equipment and systems conditions and deficiencies, and provide recommendations for enhancement and repair.
  • Oversee and monitor assigned facilities by conducting facility walkthroughs, mechanical, and electrical equipment and system monitoring and inspection.
  • Oversee and maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical building systems and equipment.
Requirements
  • College Diploma/Certification required.
  • Five (5+) years of relevant experience working in HVAC, Property Management, or equivalent.
  • Previous people leadership experience, preferred.
  • Mentoring skills required to support lower-level Technician development.
  • Ability to motivate and help with direction within a team.
  • Strong ability to adhere to processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing building mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
  • Highly-advanced building mechanical and electrical equipment and system troubleshooting and resolution skills.
  • Current knowledge of fire, life, safety, and building codes and standards, and ability to research and apply related codes and standards.
  • Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
  • Possesses a high level of environmental, health, and safety mindset, with the ability to perform work in a safe manner.
  • Strong client-service orientation, along with a high sense of urgency.
  • Valid drivers' license.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
  • HVAC or equivalent Provincial License A in Ontario, Gasfitter, Stationary Eng, tuyauteur chauffage.
  • Building Operator Certification or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Management courses from an accredited institution in Facilities Management.
