Software Asset Management Coordinator

About the Role:

The Software Asset Management Coordinator is a key position at T-Net British Columbia, responsible for developing and managing a software asset management (SAM) practice in line with industry standards. This role involves tracking, managing, auditing, and reporting on the company's software assets, including licensed and Open Source software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement software asset management policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Monitor and maintain software asset management related inventory and discovery tools to ensure accurate data.
  • Interpret and capture software license entitlements to ensure optimal use of software assets.
  • Identify, track, and communicate software-related risks to ensure timely mitigation.
  • Prepare data to assist senior stakeholders in planning and budgeting exercises to inform business decisions.
  • Document and monitor the lifecycle of software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor license agreements.
  • Capture, document, and monitor the lifecycle of software maintenance and support contracts to ensure optimal use of software assets.
  • Provide information as needed to assist in audit-compliance activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Work with the information security team to ensure T-Net British Columbia's adherence to all regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a software asset management roadmap to anticipate renewals and saving opportunities.

About You:

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a similar position, preferably in a software asset management role.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining software asset management tools.
  • Experience creating effective license positions in large environments with complex infrastructures.
  • Familiarity with software asset management standards such as ISO.
  • Experience working with complex datasets to inform business decisions.
  • Analytically and strategically minded with strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently in an effective and organized manner.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an environment with formally structured IT operational processes, including work request ticket management and incident management.
