About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Lead Packaging Engineer to join our dynamic R&D team focused on packaging and product development for medical devices. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in bringing new products to market by leading packaging design projects, establishing specifications, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the design of innovative packaging solutions for new medical device products.
- Develop comprehensive packaging specifications that align with business requirements, regulatory standards, and product performance objectives.
- Leverage advanced CAD software to create detailed packaging designs and prototypes.
- Conduct rigorous testing and analysis of packaging designs to ensure optimal protection, functionality, and compliance.
- Prepare meticulous documentation for design control and risk management processes.
- Collaborate effectively with regulatory affairs, quality assurance, manufacturing, and marketing teams to secure product approvals and facilitate successful commercialization.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the team.
- Investigate and resolve packaging-related issues to ensure product integrity and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in packaging engineering, preferably within the medical device industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software and packaging design tools.
- In-depth knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing processes, and relevant testing standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 quality management system standards.
- Project management experience.
