Job Summary

Excel Transportation Inc is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods across the country, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Load and unload goods safely and efficiently, using proper lifting techniques to avoid injury.
  • Communicate with central dispatch to receive and relay information, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption to maintain accurate records.
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo to prevent damage or loss during transit.
Requirements
  • Air Brakes Endorsement to operate a tractor-trailer combination.
  • Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks) to drive a tractor-trailer combination.
  • Defensive Driving Course to demonstrate safe driving practices.
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A) to operate a tractor-trailer combination.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment to optimize routes and reduce delivery times.
  • Local and short-haul transportation experience to navigate urban and rural areas.
  • Excellent oral communication skills to effectively communicate with central dispatch and other stakeholders.
