About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aquatics Team Leader to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Vancouver. As a key member of our aquatics team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and support to our swim instructors and lifeguards, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support to swim instructors to ensure they meet performance standards
  • Lead and motivate lifeguards to maintain high standards of pool safety and customer service
  • Develop and implement effective training programs for swim instructors and lifeguards
  • Monitor and evaluate program quality, making recommendations for improvement
  • Collaborate with the Aquatics Supervisor to develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Provide exceptional customer service to members and guests
Requirements
  • Current Standard First Aid certification
  • CPR-C & AED certification
  • Swim Instructor certification or equivalent
  • Current National Lifeguard (NL) pool option preferred
  • Experience as a Lifeguard or Swimming Instructor preferred
  • Access to reliable transportation or a vehicle
  • Advanced leadership courses an asset
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service skills
