We are seeking a skilled Millwright Red Seal/Apprentice with Power Engineer to join our team at Dessert Holdings Inc. in a Maintenance role.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will provide mechanical expertise and support to our production team, ensuring the smooth operation of our plant equipment and production assets. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide mechanical support to our production team, including installation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment and production assets.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, identifying root causes and implementing permanent fixes.
- Work with other trades groups to complete project assignments and maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and maintenance shop.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements and procedures, and maintain a strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP, CCP, Lean, 5S, SOP, and WHMIS.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, interpret blueprints, and problem-solve to bring value-added industry best practices to our organization.
- Complete work orders in a timely manner, familiar with Workorders and Preventive Maintenance cycle from initiation to closing.
- Support other maintenance department employees with their job duties if necessary, and attend/respond to food process machinery breakdowns in an adequate, effective, and efficient manner.
- Must be a hands-on person with knowledge of both mechanical and electrical aspects of the job, and identify, develop, assist, and implement improvements in food process machinery.
- Have strong organizational skills, detailed-oriented, and able to multitask and prioritize, with PLC training, thermal imaging, ultrasound, vibration analysis being an asset.
- Valid Interprovincial Red Seal Industrial / AB/ ON/ BC Millwright or Millwright Apprentice.
- Valid Power Engineer Certificate required, with a certified 4th class Power Engineer or 5th class in boiler and refrigeration.
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing and/or pharmaceutical plant is a definite advantage.
- Working-level proficiency in the English Language, good reading, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
- AM & PM shift open- hours assigned by seniority.
- Be able to work flexible shifts, including overnight shift.
- Be able to work OT as per the business needs.
- 4 x 10 or 5 x 8 hours shifts.
- Great wages Pay Rate up to $43.13/hr.
