Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team at GardaWorld. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Cash Services Messenger team in Edmonton, Alberta.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and manage the work of your team members to ensure customer satisfaction and efficient operations.
- Investigate and resolve customer and shipper complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Serve as a liaison between team members and management, providing support and guidance as needed.
- Implement schedule and policy changes to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Conduct training sessions on various topics, including material handling, employee orientation, quality improvement, and computer use.
- Promote a safe work environment by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with individual staff members.
- Participate in disciplinary processes and grievance settlements as needed.
- Monitor operations to ensure compliance with administrative policies, safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations.
- Manage expenses to ensure they are consistent with approved budgets.
- Collaborate with other supervisors and staff members to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
- Prepare management recommendations, such as proposed fee or schedule changes.
- Conduct investigations, when necessary, to determine causes of transportation accidents and improve safety procedures.
- 3-5 years of experience in administration and management of unionized employees.
- Availability to work on an afternoon and weekend schedule.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Health and Safety management experience.
- Working knowledge of WCB reporting process.
- Possession of a Possession Acquisition License (PAL) or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong customer service skills and a sense of urgency.
- Excellent teamwork and partnership orientation.
- Mechanical and/or electrical inclination is an asset.
