The Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for the upkeep and security of corporate office locations, ensuring that facilities and their surrounding areas are maintained to the highest standards. This position involves managing the Calgary and Sherwood Park Corporate Facilities, including vendor relations for leased properties such as property managers and maintenance contractors. The Facilities Operations Manager will oversee all equipment and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services, ensuring optimal functionality. This role requires the development of site-specific strategies to fulfill lease requirements, adherence to regulatory standards, and collaboration with both internal teams and external service providers to deliver quality services efficiently. The Facilities Operations Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining the operational excellence of FLINT Corp.
Essential Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in facilities management or a similar field.
- Post-secondary education in facility management or construction management is preferred.
This position supports a hybrid work model.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement best practices in facility management to ensure consistency across all FLINT Corp locations.
- Coordinate and oversee repairs and renovations, focusing on quality and cost-efficiency.
- Develop and maintain inspection schedules for corporate office locations.
- Assess equipment and supply needs for new facilities and manage procurement processes.
- Serve as the primary liaison between contractors and FLINT Corp to ensure timely maintenance.
- Centralize facility-related concerns and act as the main point of contact for resolutions.
- Schedule and supervise routine and preventative maintenance tasks, addressing emergencies promptly.
- Manage logistics for office relocations, ensuring seamless transitions.
- Collaborate with departments to evaluate space requirements and plan for office expansions.
- Regularly test security systems and implement additional measures as necessary.
- Assist in the planning and execution of facility improvement initiatives.
- Monitor project progress and manage budgets effectively.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and lease obligations.
- Address safety concerns promptly and ensure compliance across all locations.
- Support Equipment Coordinators in maintaining high standards of facility management.
- Interact with external vendors related to leased properties, including property managers.
- Manage office supplies inventory and coordinate deliveries.
- Travel between facilities to ensure excellence and consistency.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong understanding of building systems and maintenance protocols.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a high-performing team.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various office locations.
- Physical capability to perform routine maintenance tasks, including lifting and moving equipment.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for urgent maintenance issues.
