Corporate Director, Community Development and Support

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Director, Community Development and Support to join our team at Sun Life. As a key member of our Finance function, you will play a critical role in driving finance optimization and process improvement initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement finance optimization strategies, frameworks, and initiatives to streamline operations and introduce new automated capabilities.
- Create and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
- Conduct in-depth current state analysis to identify opportunities and efficiencies, and partner with specialists to embed technology and tools into end-to-end solutions.
- Monitor project health and report progress, risk mitigation, and outcomes to stakeholders.
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging capabilities to modernize finance and drive business growth.
- Effectively manage project teams comprising finance professionals and specialists, and identify and address any obstacles that may impede team progress and productivity.
- Bachelor's degree in finance or business, with 5-7+ years of leadership experience.
- Proven track record of leading successful finance optimization initiatives and delivering measurable results, while working in Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Exceptional project management, communication, influencing, and collaboration skills, including relationship management and team building.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools (MS Project, Office, Jira, Confluence, etc.).
- Strong understanding of data, process, accounting controls, and best practices.
- Certified Project Management professional designation (PMP).
- Business knowledge and experience related to the Insurance and/or financial services industry.
