Job Summary

Doman Building Materials Group is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert advice on corporate governance, employment law, and commercial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal advice on corporate governance, employment law, and commercial transactions
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Manage and resolve disputes and claims, including litigation and negotiation
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement business strategies
  • Conduct research and analysis on legal issues and risks
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external counsel and other stakeholders

Requirements

  • Member in good standing of the provincial bar
  • Undergraduate degree in business or a related field
  • 3-6 years of experience in corporate commercial and/or securities practice
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of public company legal requirements
  • Experience in wholesale distribution, building materials, and forestry industries
