The Mortgage Enforcement Manager is primarily accountable for the effectiveness of the bank's Mortgage Enforcement Collection Strategy. This role serves as the main liaison for reputational risk issues involving Public & Corporate Affairs, the Office of the Ombudsman, and the Office of the President. Additionally, the incumbent will oversee relationships with essential internal and external stakeholders.
The Mortgage Enforcement Manager's key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring Compliance: Monitor adherence to Service Level Agreements and contractual obligations of third-party service providers. This includes recommending adjustments to contracts, pricing, and service levels, as well as collaborating with Outsourcers to resolve performance-related issues.
- Performance Management: Develop and manage a robust performance reporting system for third-party service providers, ensuring optimal recoveries while minimizing costs and risks to the bank.
- Efficiency Contributions: Maximize collections and net recoveries by ensuring timely assignment of accounts, evaluating recovery methods, and maintaining direct communication with external resources.
- Operational Administration: Represent operations in discussions related to collections and recovery matters, ensuring accurate reporting of fraud and operational risks.
- Team Leadership: Cultivate a skilled team by implementing effective recruitment, training, and development strategies, while fostering a culture of employee satisfaction and team collaboration.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven leadership and change management skills, with a comprehensive understanding of the bank's collection culture and legal processes.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage inquiries and escalated issues effectively.
- Expertise in retail credit policies and operational procedures.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage high volumes within strict timelines.
Knowledge Requirements:
- Thorough understanding of the bank's retail credit and risk policies.
- Familiarity with systems and applications that support collection processes.
- Awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements related to collections and legal processes.
- Effective interpersonal skills for professional interactions with customers and stakeholders.
