Position Overview

The Faculty of Land and Food Systems at The University of British Columbia is inviting applications for a full-time, tenure-stream position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Soil Science within the Applied Biology Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an independent, externally funded, and internationally recognized research program.
  • Foster active collaborations in research and teaching within the Faculty and beyond.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to soil science.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in soil science or a closely related discipline, along with postdoctoral or equivalent experience pertinent to sustainable land and food systems. Candidates should exhibit a strong potential for innovative and inclusive research programs in areas such as soil physics, soil biogeochemistry, soil biology, soil ecology, and agroecology.

Teaching Excellence

Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in soil science is essential.
